Source: www.abs-cbnnews.comMANILA, Philippines – Budget carrier Cebu Pacific Air disputed reports that one of its planes was struck by lightning on Wednesday.
Through a press statement, the company said there was no indication that a lightning struck an aircraft with flight number 5J196 traveling from Manila to Cauayan.
Cebu Pacific said the flight landed normally and followed its normal schedule.
The company added that its Airbus and ATR aircraft are ”equipped to handle such occurrence.”
Initial reports said an explosion was heard by passengers of flight 5J196 midair, sending some into a panic.
