The number one airline in the Philippines, Cebu Pacific (CEB) launches its maiden flight from Manila to Pagadian today. It first flew to the airline’s 33rd destination last May 27, 2010 when it began flights from Cebu.

This route from Manila is a Monday, Wednesday, Friday service, using CEB’s Airbus A319 aircraft. The lowest possible year-round ‘Go Lite’ fare for this route is P1,988.

The flight leaves Manila at 11:35am, and arrives in Pagadian at 1:10pm. The return flight departs Pagadian at 1:40pm and arrives in Manila at 3:15pm.

With this flight schedule, Pagadian residents can connect to Bangkok, Brunei, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Shanghai, Singapore and Taipei.

“We are very happy with the new Cebu Pacific service connecting Manila and Pagadian, on top of its existing Cebu-Pagadian flights. This will definitely give easy access to investors and tourists who wish to visit the area,” said Hon. Samuel Co, mayor of the City of Pagadian.

He added that tourist attractions were being developed such as the Kendis Caves and the Manga Serenity Park, a virgin forest three minutes from the airport.

“We believe that Cebu Pacific fares are very affordable and comparable to boat fares. The entire city and city council will be at the airport today to welcome the first passengers from Manila,” he added.

For more information on flights to Pagadian, passengers can call (02) 7020-888 or (032) 230-8888 or go to www.cebupacificair.com or funtours.cebupacificair.com. Those without credit cards can still book online and pay via CEB partner banks.

One of Asia’s fastest growing airlines, CEB flies to 33 domestic and 15 international destinations using the youngest aircraft fleet in the country. Aside from Pagadian, CEB flies to the following Mindanao destinations direct from Manila and Cebu: Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Dipolog, Ozamiz, Zamboanga, Cotabato, General Santos and Davao.
